How DeMonaco Contracting Came to Be
Over 77 years!
1930 –
Sarafino (Harry) Silette was employed at
Detroit Edison. From his own knowledge
and experience, he taught his son Max
Silette about the building industry.
1936 –
Max’s sister Florence married Carmine
(Cardi) DeMonaco. Max passed his
knowledge on to Cardi.
1946 –
Cardi formed “Cardi DeMonaco,
Carpenter/Contractor”.
1951 –
Cardi, with a business partner, founded
John-Car Homes. They developed and built
many subdivisions and apartment
complexes.
1957 –
Cardi dissolved John-Car Homes and
formed “Cardi DeMonaco, Builder”.
1963 –
Cardi retired from the building industry
and entered the insurance industry.
Cardi’s two eldest sons, Cardi Jr. and
Larry, took over “Cardi DeMonaco,
Builder”.
1964 –
Cardi Jr. and Larry renamed their
company DeMonaco Brothers Construction.
They specialized in custom finish
carpentry and residential building.
1967 –
Larry, aside from his brother, formed
Lawrence Construction Company and
escalated the company by entering into
the commercial building industry.
1991 –
Larry incorporated the company and
changed the name to Lawrence L.
Construction Inc. (L2CI).
1996 –
Larry’s youngest son, Joe DeMonaco, went
to work full-time for his father.
2004 –
Joe formed DeMonaco Contracting,
LLC while
still working for L2CI.
2005
–Present
Joe continued with DeMonaco
Contracting, LLC independent
from L2CI. DeMonaco
Contracting specializes all phases in
residential interior and exterior
remodeling and renovations.
And commercial remodeling and
build-outs.
